Maximizing Efficiency: Unveiling Salesforce's Latest Features in Winter ‘24 Release

Top Picks! Empowering End Users and Admins with Seamless Integration and Enhanced Customization

Written By Team CUBE84

Winter is coming! Or at least, the Winter Releases are, and Salesforce is preparing to roll out a flurry of enhancements! Whether you're an end user aiming to glide seamlessly through your lead and contact pathways, or an admin keen on turning the often-chilly realms of reporting into a structured snowscape, these updates are tailored to enrich your Salesforce experience.

In this article, we are listing out some of my favorite features in the upcoming Winter Release. So, pull up your strategic snow boots and let's embark with a clear, focused vision, even in the chilliest of business weathers!

Features for End Users

This functionality will empower organizations with enhanced capabilities to access more dynamic lead and contact lists, facilitating user-driven lead segmentation and proactive measures for pipeline development and customer relationship expansion. Within a single interface, users can effortlessly generate targeted segments, gain insights into pivotal performance metrics, establish priorities for critical records, delve into comprehensive activity histories for individual entries, and seamlessly initiate calls or email communications, all without the need to exit the list interface.

In order to access this feature from Setup, in the Quick Find box enter Lead Intelligence View Set up and enable the “Lead Intelligence View “ and “Add Button” options.

To see the Intelligence View, users go to the Lead home page and click Intelligence View. To return to the original list view, users can click List View.

New Salesforce customers see the Lead Intelligence View on the home page by default.

Features for Admins

Report on Custom Permission Set and Permission Set Group Assignments

We can now create a custom report type using Permission Set Assignment as the primary object!

This helps the admins to see which users have been given specific custom permissions or grouped permissions. You can also check all the assignments for each user.

Please note that this is currently available only for custom permission sets.

To access this feature from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Report Types, and then select Report Types. Select Permission Set Assignment as the primary object. After you deploy the custom report type, users can select it when building reports.

View Permissions in the Permission Set (Beta)

Managing permissions in a permission set can be a bit challenging, especially when it comes to keeping track of all the permissions that are enabled. To simplify the process of managing user access and permissions, this  feature View Permissions in the Permission Set (Beta) allows you to view all the object, user, and field permissions that are currently active on a single page, thereby saving admins time from having to click through multiple pages and also providing the list of permission set groups to which the permission set belongs.

To access this feature, simply select a Permission set and choose “View Summary (Beta)”.

Create Custom Error Messages in Record-Triggered Flows

Admins now have the ability to customize the error messages that users encounter within record-triggered workflows. They can now manage multiple messages, determine their content, and specify when these messages should be displayed.

Also, they can configure these messages to either pop up as a window on the record page or appear as an inline error associated with a particular field, similar to how validation rules operate.

To access this feature in a record triggered flow, add a Custom Error Message element (1), choose where to display the error message (2), and enter the error message text (3).

Conclusion

In summary, Salesforce is gearing up for its upcoming Winter Release, bringing a host of exciting enhancements. Whether you're an end user seeking smoother lead and contact management or an admin looking to streamline reporting, these updates are tailored to enrich your Salesforce experience. Features like Lead & Contact Intelligence Views offer dynamic list capabilities, while admin-focused enhancements include reporting on custom permissions and customizable error messages in record-triggered workflows. These updates promise a more efficient and effective Salesforce experience for all users. So, get ready to explore these valuable additions and elevate your Salesforce usage to the platform's full magnitude. Until the next snowfall of updates, keep your compass steady and happy navigating!
